Tactical Effectiveness Tactical Understanding, Player Ability, Player Buy-In and Next Match Information, shown as gauges on the Tactics, Training and Recruitment screens. Tactical Tweaks Adjust the plan from the match screen without opening Tactics. A tweak stays on until you deselect it, and there is no cap.

The boxed PC edition shares the 10 November date with the digital versions, while the boxed PlayStation 5 copy follows on 20 November. Football Manager 26 came out on 4 November 2025, so this release lands a year and six days later.
Free play opened at 6pm GMT on 29 October and closes at 6pm GMT on 3 November, on Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Careers started in that window carry into the full game. After it, only players who pre-purchased from a SEGA-approved retailer or play through Game Pass keep their access.

Every listed player has a current ability (CA) and a potential ability (PA) on a 1-200 scale, plus 1-20 attributes. Start with Wonderkids for long-term signings, Best players for immediate starters and Free agents when the budget has gone.
Filter any list by position, sort by value or wage, then tick up to four names to compare them side by side. The ratings come from the Launch Preview database, so some numbers can change on release day.
What changes on the touchline
Shouts now change a player's mental state instead of giving small attribute boosts, and staff summarise the effect of each one. New attacking instructions let a player arrive late or attack the defensive line, aimed at the near post, far post or centre.
Stamina now governs repeated sprints and late-game condition, so substitutes matter more. Tactical Complexity rises with every team, player and opposition instruction: a simple plan works sooner but caps lower.
Editions and where FM27 runs
There are four editions: FM27 for PC and Mac, FM27 Console for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox handhelds and PS5, FM27 Mobile on iOS and Android through Netflix, and FM27 Touch on Apple Arcade.
Windows players need at least 64-bit Windows 10 or 11, 6 GB of RAM and 20 GB of storage. The US Steam price is $59.99, and there is no Linux version.

Can I play FM27 for free?
Yes, for a limited time. Until 6pm GMT on 3 November the Launch Preview costs nothing on PC and Mac, all modes are open, and there is no time or progress limit.
Is FM27 on Nintendo Switch?
No. Switch is not supported, and neither are Xbox One, Xbox One X or Xbox One S. Console players need an Xbox Series X|S, an Xbox handheld or a PS5.
